Spoon 4-Pot Calipers - Twinblock & Monoblock

$1,500.00

Spoon Sports calipers are manufactured by Nissin, the OE supplier of all Honda brakes. The Spoon twin-block caliper was developed specifically for the EK9 Civic Type-R and DC2 Integra Type-R vehicles. For the S2000 and newer 2001+ body style Honda vehicles, Spoon designed the mono-block caliper, whose one piece construction improved rigidity. Spoon twin-block version is recommended for 'generation' Honda vehicles such as the DC2 Integra Type-R and EK9 Civic Type-R.

The monoblock version is recommended for newer generation Honda vehicles such as the 02-06 RSX Type-S (DC5), 01-05 JDM Civic Type-R (EP3*), 06-11 Civic Si (FA5/FG2/FD2), 04-08 TSX (CL7), and S2000 (AP1/2).

*NOTE: NOT compatible with US 02-05 Civic Si and 02-06 RSX BASE models. These vehicles have smaller brake rotor and caliper components. Monoblocks require an 11.8" (300mm) rotor, same as what a US RSX Type-S is equipped with. Upgrading to RSX Type-S front knuckle & hub assemblies on said vehicles will allow monoblock compatibility whilst converting the vehicle to 5x114 lug pattern (don't forget to upgrade rear hubs as well if doing this conversion!).

Spoon calipers are direct fit and are designed to work with the stock brake system, including the ABS. Spoon calipers use stock Honda size brake pads, which gives users incredible flexibility in choosing pads. The 4-pot calipers significantly improve both high speed braking and brake pedal feel and its consistency during track use - especially the monoblock caliper due to its rigid 1-block design. The 4-pot pistons makes pad wear more even and minimizes rotor warpage thanks to the offset piston sizes. The aluminum construction also helps reduce unsprung weight significantly. These benefits are achieved while maintaining a stock feel for daily driving..

Twin Block Install Note:
Integra Type-R (5-lug/5x114) owners must sandwich the included washers between the caliper and knuckle assembly for proper caliper/rotor alignment.

*Wheel spacers and possibly extended wheel studs may be required to clear certain wheel styles
